Cat Park Tour & Wine Tasting

Activity Description

Visitors to our Big Cats Park can enjoy the rare and exciting experience of being able to view these beautiful creatures up close, but still from the safety of our viewing decks and behind the enclosure fences! After all, these are wild animals and we respect them as such.

Our Big Cats Park offers a unique experience not to be found anywhere else along the Stellenbosch wine route, where one can both view and learn more about these majestic creatures that may well one day cease to exist in anything but our history books. It’s a must-visit for any animal lover, and we look forward to grrrrr-eeting you soon!

Set alongside Hudson’s Restaurant, our Tasting Room is the perfect place to enjoy your first introduction to Vredenheim’s range of wines. Offering seating at the counter or at large tables, we are able to accommodate groups of any size, from romantic tastings for two to tour group visits.

Our private cellar, adjacent to our Tasting Room, provides the perfect setting for intimate tutored tastings and is very popular with small groups and wine clubs.

Our Tasting Room also shares the stage with our Gift Shop, giving guests the perfect excuse to browse around whilst enjoying a wine tasting. From calendars and curios to jewellery, toys and art, and everything in between, there’s really something for everyone!

Pensioners can pay on arrival, no need for a online booking.

Customer Reviews

It was a lovely experience and it's great for family outings, especially the kids. The 2014 Shiraz is by far the smoothest, affordable wine in winelands. Definitely will be returning soon, thank you for the kindest and most helpful service. - Anzire Scott

We used to eat at the Huston Restaurant. The food is excellent the service is not. We were one hour before the appointment at the wine tasting restaurant I thought that would be enough time to eat. Unfortunately it took forever until the waiters took the order or brought it. Even for a wine glass that a waiter forgot we had to wait 10 minutes. Almost we had missed the tasting because it had taken so long until we received our orders. Furthermore I ordered the main course and the dessert at the same time, big mistake the thinking along is not the case. My ice cream was served with the main course and was of course melted when I finished the main course. Wine Tasting The wine was excellent and the service also super friendly. Cat park I feel sorry for the animals neither did they look well nourished nor do they have much space. Had I known that before I would not have gone there. The ambience in the park is very beautiful and is excellently suited for a Pinick - Sabrina Schwemberger

Great facility. really interesting talk from the keepers. Really good value as a trip out. Wines are very good Restaurants shut early on a Sunday so no chance of dinner there which is a great shame as the menu looked good. From memory I am not sure that the restaurants are open in the evening. Plan to visit again when I go in December this year - Blackcat9990

It was really lovely. It is such a beautiful estate and with so many lovely animals. The cats were something special. And our guide for the drive plus our drinks and cheese were a lovely touch. Highly recommended for a day out. It's a wonderful place. - Lo-Anne Lewis

A unique combination of activities in a beautiful setting. So heartening to see the cats sympathetically cared for. Our guide was a personable young German student. We got lost twice trying to find the entrance to the cat park so perhaps another signpost is required. The wine tasting was overseen by a knowledgeable employee: just a pity we had a flight to catch so couldn't purchase a decent quantity of wine! - M L Potter
