Cat Park Tour & Wine Tasting

Stellenbosch

Activity Description

Visitors to our Big Cats Park can enjoy the rare and exciting experience of being able to view these beautiful creatures up close, but still from the safety of our viewing decks and behind the enclosure fences! After all, these are wild animals and we respect them as such.

Our Big Cats Park offers a unique experience not to be found anywhere else along the Stellenbosch wine route, where one can both view and learn more about these majestic creatures that may well one day cease to exist in anything but our history books. It’s a must-visit for any animal lover, and we look forward to grrrrr-eeting you soon!

Set alongside Hudson’s Restaurant, our Tasting Room is the perfect place to enjoy your first introduction to Vredenheim’s range of wines. Offering seating at the counter or at large tables, we are able to accommodate groups of any size, from romantic tastings for two to tour group visits.

Our private cellar, adjacent to our Tasting Room, provides the perfect setting for intimate tutored tastings and is very popular with small groups and wine clubs.

Our Tasting Room also shares the stage with our Gift Shop, giving guests the perfect excuse to browse around whilst enjoying a wine tasting. From calendars and curios to jewellery, toys and art, and everything in between, there’s really something for everyone!

Pensioners can pay on arrival, no need for a online booking.

Excellent experience - Cole

I went with my wife Belinda to celebrate her birthday. Every since staff member makes you feel at home. The food was amazing, wines out of this world and the Cats an experience of a life time!!We will definitely come back !! - Tafadzwa

It's beautiful. Plenty of photo opportunities. Some things to note: - Go at the correct times. Check when feeding time is. Then you are more likely to see all the cats. I went in the middle of the day and most of the cats were sleeping so I was only able to see the white tigers. They were awesome! - The cat enclosure area can be muddy after it's been raining so wear some "Wellies". - If you booked online, take a printed receipt with you to the gate of the cat area. - Order the simple dishes at the restaurant since waiting times for the more complicated dishes can be quite long. I ordered the Cape Malay curry. It was delicious, but I waited 45 minutes. The burgers seemed popular. Be sure to book your table. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. The two young men tending to the cats will answer any cat questions you can imagine! Be sure to take your bank cards or SnapScan. They don't seem big on cash transactions. No big deal for me. I had fun. - Albertus

We loved visiting. The cat park is a beautiful experience and is a must do at feeding time. The animal farm is so open and perfectly laid out for kids and adults to enjoy. We also did the wine tasting that was lovely and the deli which had amazing service and delicious food. Our only negative was at the restaurant we sat down, had to ask for menus then 5 min later were told the kitchen and bar are closed. Just put a sign up or tell people on arrival. Eish but other than that we had a great day and will be back - Jaclyn

It was amazing ? The big cats were educational and fascinating at the same time ??[?]?? The wine tasting was fruitful and we had the best conversations with my girls. Since we took a lot of pictures, people asked where we were and when we told them they said they'd try it out too. - Sisanda
