Cat Park Tour

Activity Description

Visitors to our Big Cats Park can enjoy the rare and exciting experience of being able to view these beautiful creatures up close, but still from the safety of our viewing decks and behind the enclosure fences! After all, these are wild animals and we respect them as such.

Our Big Cats Park offers a unique experience not to be found anywhere else along the Stellenbosch wine route, where one can both view and learn more about these majestic creatures that may well one day cease to exist in anything but our history books. It’s a must-visit for any animal lover, and we look forward to grrrrr-eeting you soon!

Customer Reviews

While the website clearly advertised the Cat Park Tour as a guided tour, we were surprised to see that we were pretty much on our own. From the reception, we’re told to go through a pathway to meet the operator, but he was busy, so he sent to to another place to meet a staff who had to leave her current duty to made us visit the park. We could see straight away that she wasn’t trained to be a park-tour operator, but she tried her best. Then, would you believe, we only got to see 2 kind of animals... the lions and the tigers. Oh rabbits as well! It was a complete waste of time, and yes, money too! We got a rental car to get there, and travelled about 30 mins each way from our hotel residence. My kids of 4 and 2 years old were super excited before coming only to be left super disappointed. I feel bad for them. At least you could have a few other animals to make the trip to the park worth the time. I’m not so much bothered about the money, because I would spend whatever (reasonably) to make my kids see some animals, but seriously, nearly a day lost! - Ravi Ramdenee

Had a wonderful time at Vredenheim with our family. A tad dissapointed that we booked the 12:00 timeslot as the website said that was when the lions will be fed. When we arrived at 11:55 we were told we can stick around till 15:00 then only will the lions be fed. We unfortunately planned the day around the 12:00 slot, arrived early had breakfast and then saw the beautiful animals. All and all a great family destination with gorgeous gardens and lovely restaraunts. - Jenny Brackenridge

We chose this venue for my little boy's birthday party and I must say I was very impressed. The service from when you arrive was friendly and very helpful. The tour was very informative and the kids loved the whole experience. Thank you - Melisia La Cock
