Cat Park Tour

Activity Description

Visitors to our Big Cats Park can enjoy the rare and exciting experience of being able to view these beautiful creatures up close, but still from the safety of our viewing decks and behind the enclosure fences! After all, these are wild animals and we respect them as such.

Our Big Cats Park offers a unique experience not to be found anywhere else along the Stellenbosch wine route, where one can both view and learn more about these majestic creatures that may well one day cease to exist in anything but our history books. It’s a must-visit for any animal lover, and we look forward to grrrrr-eeting you soon!

Customer Reviews

the park itself is beautiful, the animals are beautiful and look well taken care of. we really enjoyed the experience. The guide could have spoken louder, he was very soft spoken and we sometimes struggled to hear him. - Anthea Evert

It was great, especially to go back - Ron

As Close to Seeing Lions as a 3 year Can Get This enclosure is a great way of seeing some of the big cats up close, especially as most safaris don't allow children, and if your son is anything like mine, Lions and Dinosaurs are the most interesting things ever. The actual estate has feeding times (11am and 3pm I think) and they have a zoo keeper of sorts, come and throw whole chickens over the fence for the big cats to munch on. He offered a brief history of each animal, and was happy to answer questions when he could. The enclosures themselves do seem small, but there was work going on that is designed to create more open space for the cats to roam, and it's bigger than what they have in most local zoos. We saw Lions, Tigers, and a leopard, and it was a great day out, we enjoyed it, and the food there was also really pretty good too. - James Ruddick

The size of the camps, lack of vegetation, shade and water for the animals were appaling. The animals look healthy, but the "park" itsef was a heartbreaking experience. One we will not return to, neither will we be recommending it to anyone we know. - Sue Schlebusch

We love Vredenheim! It is absolutely beautiful and a great experience for kids and adults alike. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The restaurant is first class too. - Charna Chapman
